Acrylic Painting

A view of downtown Albany, Oregon, painted by Bill Marshall

Acrylics are a popular alternative to oil paints, needing only water as a thinner and cleaning agent, and requiring very short drying times. For this reason, artists can create wonderfully rich layered colors in a short time, and can also create exquisite details within each layer. Bill Marshall is one of our artists who uses acrylics extensively in his works. Nancy Anderson also uses acrylics when creating the rich bases and backgrounds for her calligraphy works.
