Artists Sought

Gallery Calapooia is seeking artists producing three dimensional work – glass, baskets, ceramics, sculpture – to become members of our new gallery. Benefits of membership include joining the enthusiastic and talented community of Gallery Calapooia artists as well as finding an exciting gallery in which to display and sell your work on an ongoing basis.

If you think that you might be interested, please take a look at the info on the application for membership.  If you are then interested in applying for membership, please download the application form and complete it. Then submit it as indicated in the application form.

To be considered during the current round of applications, please submit your application by 6:00 pm on October 14th. Applications received after this deadline will be held over for consideration when future membership opportunities arise.

If you have trouble downloading the forms, please contact us.

Images from the Grand Opening Reception

Here are some photos from the fun on Friday night.

Hors d'oeuvres

Scrumptious hors d’oeuvres were prepared by Matt Bennett, owner of Sybaris.

Gallery servers

Three of our fine artists, Melissa Babcock Saylor, Lynn Powers and Tessa Green (L-R) served wine and appetizers.

Anna Tewes (one of our artists), Dick Martin (Anna's partner) and Ron Green (artist Tessa's husband) entertained our guests with lively music.

Reception-goers take a look at the wide variety of artwork.

Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of it, but thanks very much to Burcham’s Metals for the beautiful flower arrangement they sent for the reception.

And thanks to all who were a part of our grand opening event. Come back and see us soon.

While you are downtown…

If you are in downtown Albany today for the Historic Interior Home Tour, please stop in and visit our new gallery. The gallery is open until 6:00, an hour later than the Home Tour.

Below is one of the very interesting houses on the tour, “The Keyhole House”, named for the two eye-catching keyhole shaped windows in the house. The house was owned by a magician and was full of strange and unusual features.
